Our organization accomplishes this mission by providing the following opportunities for young readers and writers.

Teen Author Boot Camp NEW LOGO 2020 - gr

Our organization is most commonly known for our annual teen conference held every spring where nearly a thousand aspiring teen writers come to the Utah Valley Convention Center to work with bestselling authors to amp up their writing skills. 

 

The next conference is scheduled for March 26, 2022 and will be available in-person and online.

 

Past keynote speakers include Leigh Bardugo, Rena Barron, Marissa Meyer, Christopher Paolini, Ally Carter, Marie Lu, Brandon Sanderson, Jessica Day George, Maureen Johnson, Ally Condie, Shannon Hale, Kiersten White, Brandon Mull, Dan Wells, Jay Asher, and Margaret Peterson Haddix.

Teens are encouraged to enter the First Chapter Contest, where their work is judged by industry professionals for the chance to win a commemorative plaque as well as a cash prize.

This national effort is led by NYT Bestseller, Jennifer A. Nielsen and is  division of Writers Cubed, Inc dedicated to working with donors to generate free books and author visits for Title One schools.

Teens also have the opportunity to submit to our annual Poetry Collection curated by Leigh Statham and Melanie McFarlane and our annual Short Story Anthology published by Owl Hollow Press.
